PGR Mission to Honor Sgt. Joshua A. Tomlinson

PGR_logo.jpg

Patriot Guard Riders Funeral Service Mission: Saturday May 29th, 2 pm - First Baptist Church - 301 Pennsylvania Ave. - Minden, La.

To all that attended Sgt Tomlinson's Service...

I just wanted to take a moment to thank each and every person, Club and organization that came out in strength to show this hero the respect he so rightly deserved. I have never been so proud than I was to see the turnout not only from PGR members, but our brethren from most, if not all, other MC's and organizations - to include those from neighboring states as well! At last count (stopped mainly because of being tired of counting) there were over 450 motorcycles present at the church, not counting all those around the community that showed up to also show respect that according to the media, numbered in the thousands. After the church service 250 of the motorcycles followed the family to the grave site as part of the procession to pay their last respects. The honor bestowed on this young hero was nothing less than amazing. Standing shoulder to shoulder, we were able to completely encircle the family around the entire area. Read the rest

Another brave US Army soldier has passed on.
The Department of Defense announced today the deaths of two soldiers who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. They died April 7 in Mosul, Iraq, when enemy forces attacked their vehicle with an improvised explosive device. The Soldiers were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, Fort Stewart, Ga..

SPC Anthony Blount, 21, of Petal, MS, died Wednesday during a roadside blast in northern Iraq, according to family.
Blount was serving with the 164th Infantry Bravo Company. He joined the Army roughly a year ago, his father, Billy Blount, said.
“It’s been pretty rough, a lot of our cell phones have been going off,” Billy Blount said. “It’s great, I mean, the morning after we found out... a guy from his unit who was on leave came and talked with us and cried with us.”
Anthony Blount’s wife, Amanda, is eight months pregnant with his daughter, Avery. He was scheduled for a leave to see her birth, Billy said.
